Dean RA Series
Dean RA is an air-cooled centrifugal pump for heat transfer oil. A shaft-mounted fan across a finned bearing frame cools the bearings and seal chamber. No cooling-water jacket.
Series ratings: 6,000 GPM, 425 ft, 650 °F (343 °C), 350 psig, ductile iron, 27 sizes. Heat transfer oil only. Hot water, ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, and triethylene glycol use Dean RWA. Series literature.
Built in Indianapolis at 6040 Guion Road. Dean is a Tusk Industrial brand. Complete pumps are built to order.
RA2096, RA3146, RA3186
We sell three frames: RA2096 (foot-mounted), RA3146 (centerline, yoke), and RA3186 (centerline, pedestal). Maximum temperature 650 °F. RA is not an ANSI B73.1 pump.

Selection
- RA2096 is foot-mounted. RA3146 and RA3186 are centerline-mounted.
- 27 factory sizes in the series. Additional sizes are quoted.
- 4x6x10 #1 is RA3186. 4x6x10 #2 is RA3146. Kits and bearing frames do not interchange between #1 and #2.
- RA3146 kits 6138148 (8.5 in) and 6138149 (10 in, including 4x6x10 #2) do not cover 11.5 in. Confirm 11.5 in rebuild parts before ordering.
- Dimensional interchange covers nozzle spacing and envelope. Impeller, seal, and options still have to match the nameplate, curve, and fluid.
- RA2096 is dimensionally interchangeable with small ANSI B73.1 pumps. RA3146 accepts ANSI B73.1-design baseplates. Neither is an ANSI B73.1 pump.
Repair kits
Rotating-element kits include shaft, mechanical seal, bearings, grease/oil seals, snap rings, and gaskets. Individual parts: Dean Pump Parts.
RA3146 kit: shaft ships with mechanical seal, gland, seal collar, thrust bearings (greased, locknut and washer installed), inboard grease seal, and snap rings. Loose: radial carbon bearing cartridge, end-cover O-ring, outboard grease seal, casing gasket. RA2096 and RA3186 kits are pre-assembled the same way; RA3186 also includes gland, snap rings, and O-rings.
